Case Study - Education/Training - De Montfort University - Rapid Manufacturing Incubators: "In December 2000 the Engineering Forum and Leicester De Montfort University (DMU) were successful in accessing over 500K to build the world`s first business centre dedicated to the uptake of Rapid Manufacturing technology by small businesses. Building on the huge success of the Rapid Manufacturing Consortium managed by De Montfort and including companies such as Volvo, Ericsson, Martin Baker, TWR and GEC-Alstom, it was felt that SMEs and business start-ups could also benefit from new and emerging manufacturing technology, design and management research undertaken within DMU.
